So what does Herbert, the often mentioned husband do? I grew up in Austria, studied communications and politics in Vienna before I met Estee on my world trip in Singapore. I work as a U.S. Correspondent for Austrian, Swiss and German media since our move to New York 1999 and I have covered my share of big stories since then. The most devastating started with that deafening jet engine roar over Lower Manhattan on this sunny morning in September 2001. I have also covered the election thriller 2000, the horror after killer hurricane Katrina, the scary wave of nationalism before the Iraq invasion and the swift boating of John Kerry 2004.
My latest passion is blogging which I do ferociously about everything news – a lot lately of course about the sensational rise of Barack Obama (my blog is here, but it’s in German).
I also offer my services as a seperate branch of Boxx Media, focusing on public relations (a field in which I have gained experience as a PR excecutive for a hedge fund). I additionally work as a freelance organiser and production manager, like film projects. And last but not least: I spend every free minute with my adorable kids and drive my wife on the verge of nervous breakdowns with my relentless feedback conerning certain aspects of her design work.
Please let me know, if I can help you with a project in NYC.
servus! just alerting you to the fact that in your list of stories above you neglected to share your most significant contribution to the cause of keeping Austrians up to date on world affairs: your interview with Paris Hilton! Knowing you as I do, I am certain the omission was committed out of humility, but I felt obliged to mention it…

Herbert, I’m very intrigued by your blogs – your very funny family stories, rounded up by astute observations about the state of the world. They make my day, every time they come out!
